Our neighbors to the south are celebrating a big birthday in 2018! Macomb County celebrates its 200th birthday this year, with an event being held Wednesday to announce several special activities to commemorate the anniversary. To help celebrate, the county has launched a new website, macomb200.org, which will feature historical articles and more information on the year long bicentennial celebration. Also, a torch relay will travel through local communities this summer and a bicentennial float will be featured in several area parades. Macomb County was formally organized on January 15th, 1818.
