Fort Gratiot Township is moving forward on a project that will create a community garden and farmer’s market adjacent to the township’s municipal office building on Keewahdin Road. Township Supervisor Jorja Baldwin says it will be appropriately named the “Gardendale Market”and it will be connected to the township’s bike trail system. The lot to the east of the township office has already been cleared and Baldwin says progress on the Garendale market will move forward this spring. Baldwin also says with the spring will come new road projects in Fort Gratiot Township, with the county re-working North River Road and MDOT planning to replace a bridge on M-25.
