A crumbling culvert has closed a section of roadway in St. Clair County’s Riley Township. The St. Clair County Road Commission says “advancing steel deterioration and buckling” is to blame for Hough Road being closed over the Sharrard-Burgess Drain. The crossing is just east of Eagling Road. The section of roadway will continue to be closed until further notice from the road commission.
