Take a free ride all day today on Blue Water Area Transit for National Dump the Pump Day. The local transit system is joining hundreds of others nation wide to bring awareness to public transportation today… with executive director Jim Wilson saying riding the bus is both convenient and affordable. Wilson says it is usually 80 cents to ride the bus, with discounts for students, seniors, and those with disabilities. Blue Water Area Transit buses operate along fixed routes within the City of Port Huron and Fort Gratiot Township, and also operates a dial-a-ride service for passengers in Marysville, as well as Fort Gratiot, Burtchville and Port Huron Townships. Wilson, speaking to WPHM, also says the bus system can take you to Metro Detroit destinations through an agreement with the SMART system.
