U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, the ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, will today discuss Senate passage of the Farm Bill conference report, which represents the final version of the 2018 Farm Bill. The bill passed the Senate by a margin of 87-13 and now heads to the House of Representatives for consideration. The bipartisan Farm Bill strongly supports Michigan’s farmers and agricultural economy, which is the state’s second-largest industry. The bill protects Michigan’s Great Lakes, invests in our small towns and rural communities, promotes Michigan forestry, supports local food economies, and provides healthy food for families.
