Interstate 69 has reopened to traffic following an accident Tuesday afternoon. It happened around 3:30 pm when a westbound grain hauler struck the Range Road overpass. According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, the truck had dropped off a load of corn at the Marysville ethanol plant and left the trailer slightly raised. The elevated trailer was not able to clear the overpass and struck the bridge. I-69 was closed for several hours yesterday afternoon between 32nd Street and Wadhams roads as crews cleared the accident. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Range Road bridge was inspected and did not sustain significant damage. The overpass has since reopened to motorists.
