The Port Huron Police Department is investigating a suspected poisoning that occurred at a recovery home in the 1200 block of Lapeer Avenue this past weekend. Port Huron Police Officers were called to the home on reports of a poisoning of a 38 year old employee who worked at the recovery home. A suspect is believed to have placed heroin in her dinner this past Friday. Authorities say the victim reported her meal tasting funny and eventually discarded it. Yesterday, Port Huron Police arrested two suspects, 40 year old Shanna Kota and 22 year old Sarah Prange of Port Huron, who are both facing one count of poisoning. Police say the woman was poisoned because the two suspects, clients at the recovery home, did not want the victim to work there anymore. The two are being housed in the St. Clair County Jail on a $100,000 dollar bond. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for January 29th.
