A great way to spend a winter’s day is to start planning summer….and for the group that help’s fund the Blue Water Festival that is exactly what was happening Friday. A press conference on the topic was held with the announcement that Johnathan Witz would be back at the helm of the Port Huron mid-July event. Witz says to expect food and merchandise vendors, Operation Transformation, carnival activities, and fireworks to go along with annual Port Huron to Mackinac Yacht Race. Witz stressed that entrance to the festival would be free to the public…something that caused a good amount of controversy when he attempted to secure the gates five years ago. Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort was announced as the “presenting sponsor” of this year’s festival. The festival starts July 14th…a day after the Rotary International Day Parade…and a day before boat night.
