An 18-year-old Fort Gratiot Township teen has plead guilty for charges from a traffic fatality case that saw the owner and operator of a tow-truck killed earlier this year. Trent Sheldon was charged with Operating Under The Influence – Causing Death in connection with the January 15th accident. Officials say toxicology reports from the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory showed that Sheldon had marijuana in his system at the time of the crash. Jason Schultz, who operated Preferred Towing was fatally injured when Sheldon’s vehicle struck him. The guilty plea was in front of St Clair County District Court Judge Cynthia Platzer Tuesday morning. His Circuit Court sentencing would be before Judge Dan Kelly.
