The Community Foundation of St. Clair County will soon be paying college graduates to return to the county with their Reverse Scholarship program. Traditional scholarships give students money to attend college, but the foundation’s new Reverse Scholarship program will offer college graduates, with degrees in Science, Technology Engineering and Math related fields up-to $10,000 to return and work within the community. Board Member Hale Walker says, that the foundation hopes to attract more qualified workers to the county with the scholarships. The foundation has been getting calls from neighboring states and even Hawaii, that are interested in reverse scholarships. The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is one of the oldest foundations in Michigan, and the largest in the Thumb region.
