The Huron Lady
The Blue Water Sturgeon Festival may be a few months away, but tickets for the Huron Lady’s Sturgeon Cruise go on sale this Friday. The festival is a one day event featuring activities that provide close encounters with the “Gentle Giants of the Great Lakes”, and is set for June 4th. As part of the event, the Huron Lady will be selling tickets for their Sturgeon Cruise, beginning April 1st. Big screens on deck will allow guests to view lake sturgeon’s swimming in their natural habitat along the bottom of the St. Clair River. Other activities during the festival include a live sturgeon “touch tank”, workshops, and the 5K “Run With The Sturgeon” race. Tickets for the cruise are $15 for adults and $5 for kids, the rest of the activities are free. The festival, organized by Friends of the St. Clair River, is the largest such event in the Great Lakes and brings together scientists, government agencies and businesses to increase interest in restoring the threatened lake sturgeon.
