A short meeting for Port Huron City Planning Commission members this week. The Tuesday evening session featured some decades old house cleaning with the recommendation to vacate certain portions of street right-of-ways in the area of McMorran Place. Planning Director David Haynes says some of the items should have been taken care of when the facility was first built. Involved are sections of McMorran Blvd, Ontario, and Andrew Murphy streets. City Council will make the final decisions on the changes. Also given the green light Thursday night were preliminary plans for adding a nine unit student apartment building at the Baker College Culinary Institute. The final plans will return to the commission for approval.
