Dude Finds Cop Selfie on His Phone After a Blackout Night

Tasmanian Reece Parker will be the first to admit that he went a little harder than he should have over the weekend. He woke up Sunday morning with no recollection of how he made it home after a night of partying! Looking for clues, he went through his phone hoping there was a message or a photo that would shed some light on the situation. That’s when he found this gem:

You know you’re s***faced when you’re throwing up the “hang ten” in pictures.

This amazing selfie was brought to you by Tasmania Police Constables Natalie Siggins and Jeremy Blyth. Turns out that they were called to by a taxi driver who reported having a customer who couldn’t hold his drink.  “We got called to a taxi,” Officer Blyth told local news. “[He] was a little bit unresponsive, didn’t know where he lived. He wasn’t saying much so we tried to locate where he was. We were lucky enough to figure out his address.” Going the extra mile (or kilometer, since Australia), they made sure Reece got home and even waited while a friend to get there before leaving. Officer Siggins added that it was “all part of the service and making sure everyone gets home safe.”

The constables assumed (correctly) that Reece would be too blitzed to know how he managed to get home, so they left him the selfie to help jog his memory. He was quick to post it on his Facebook page, saying “So was just looking through my phone and turns out these good [c-word I’d get fired for typing]s took some banger selfies after they tooo my drunk ass home! Bloody legends [cheers emoji].” Of course, the post went viral.

The Tasmania Police took advantage of the attention to make their own Facebook post, informing a global audience about the importance of having a plan to get home safely after a night of drinking.

Here’s to these bitchin’ cops for going above and beyond, then getting the photographic evidence to prove it!
