A Marlette man is in custody after allegedly lighting his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle on fire. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies say they received a call from a Minden City woman in the early morning hours Saturday who reported her ex-boyfriend was throwing objects at her window. When sheriff’s officials arrived, they found the woman’s vehicle on fire. Deputies attempted to pull over a suspicious vehicle a short while later, apprehending a 46-year old man after a short pursuit. Deputies say the suspect was intoxicated and an unloaded firearm was found. The suspect was on parole in Sanilac County and out on bond from another nearby county. He will face charges including arson, operating while intoxicated, and possessing a stolen vehicle.
