Local officials will be tally the number of complaints from residents upset with hearing fireworks at all hours of the day and night over the past couple days. The law says residents can still legally shoot off fireworks until midnight tonight. While some lawmakers have sought to scrap the law, the Snyder administration has never embraced the idea because the state makes money on the sales. Those lawmakers trying to change the law have never been successful in gathering enough support from fellow legislators.
