Motorcycle accident injures three

Sanilac County authorities are investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred in Speaker Township yesterday. A motorcycle operated by a 62 year old Montrose was westbound on Burns Road and attempted to make a left hand turn onto Melvin Road. Another motorcycle, driven by a 59 year old Lowell man attempted to pass the first bike. The passing motorcycle struck the first motorcycle while it attempted to complete the turn, resulting in a collision. The Montrose man and his 59-year old wife were taken to McLaren Lapeer Hospital for treatment. The subject on the second motorcycle was taken to Marlette Hospital and later flown to Saginaw Covenant Hospital for treatment of injuries. All subjects were wearing helmets and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
