Peck woman arrested for son-in-law stabbing

A Peck woman has been charged for stabbing her Son-in-Law at a Speaker Township home earlier this week. 61 year old Suzanne Pond was arraigned yesterday afternoon on felony charges of Assault with Intent to Murder and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Sheriffs deputies were called to a residence in the 6500 block of Paldi Road just after midnight Monday morning on reports of a family dispute. Authorities claim Pond stabbed a 43-year old man who is identified as her son-in-law. The victim’s name has not been released and is currently recovering in a Saginaw area hospital. Pond is being held in the Sanilac County Jail on a $500,000 dollar bond. She will reappear in 73A District Court on August 14th.

A Peck area man is recovering after allegedly being stabbed by his mother in law early yesterday morning. It happened at a house in the 6500 block of Paldi Road in Sanilac County’s Speaker Township just after Midnight Monday. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the residence on reports of a family dispute. The victim was administered first aid on the scene by his 19-year-old daughter and then taken to Marlette Regional hospital for treatment. He was later taken to a Saginaw hospital for further medical attention. The victim’s 61-year old Mother in Law was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of Assault with Intent to Murder and is being lodged at the Sanilac County Jail. Names are being withheld pending arraignment.
