Taking prescription drugs off the streets,. that’s the goal of a new drop box that has been donated to the Port Huron Police Department. Port Huron Police Chief Joe Platzer says citizens can stop by the police department at 100 McMorran Boulevard during normal business hours to properly dispose of unused or unwanted pills. The drop box is a result of a grant from CVS Health that was submitted by the department’s Lieutenant Roger Wesch. The public can drop off medication with no questions asked. Chief Platzer says the department does not accept syringes and adds that proper disposal of drugs helps fight the opioid epidemic.
