Three county police chase sends one to jail

A police chase that spanned three thumb area counties yesterday ended with a Brown City man being arrested. It started shortly before 4pm yesterday afternoon during a traffic stop in Brown City. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect was armed with a knife which he did not let go of when officer asked him. He then held the knife to his throat and allegedly swung it at a deputy, taking off in a vehicle which is believed to be stolen. He was chased into Lapeer and Tuscola Counties by deputies where he became stuck in a field near Vassar. After a short foot chase and confrontation by the property owner, the 31 year old Brown City man was taken into custody. He is name is currently being withheld and he is lodged at the Tuscola County Jail.
