An early morning crash in Emmett Township has claimed the life of one and injured another. Around 2:30am Wednesday morning, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to an accident at the intersection of Dunnigan and Bryce Roads on reports of an accident. Deputes say a 2009 Cadillac CTS was fully engulfed in flames when authorities arrived. The vehicle is believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed, where it lost control and struck a guardrail, and then continued into a wooded area where it caught fire. The driver of the vehicle, a 28 year old from Emmett, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers, a 27 and 28 year old from Capac and Emmett respectively, were able to escape from the vehicle and were taken to an area hospital. Sheriff’s deputies say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors and investigations are under way.
