Port Huron City Council has approved a park closing time ordinance that would set new hours for most city parks. In a six to zero vote last night, Port Huron City Council enacted the new dawn-to-dusk ordinance. A similar ordinance, that would have set a blanket 9pm closing time, was tabled by council late last year after concerns from residents. The revised ordinance allows city tennis courts and softball fields to remain open during the summer as late as 11pm. Anglers along the city’s boardwalks and fishing piers are exempt from the new park hours.
