Progress is being made on an 8-story tall condo building in Downtown Port Huron. Lee Stevens, lead architect for Blue Water View Condos, took WPHM on a tour of the building Thursday. Stevens says contractors are currently working to install the building’s glass windows, which is manufactured locally by Blue Water Glass in Port Huron. He says contractors are also beginning to place studs and hang drywall for interior walls. Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical contractors are also on site, with Stevens saying they are utilizing as many Port Huron area contractors as possible. “We tried to hire local contractors, and we’ve gotten a lot… A lot of Port Huron people and surrounding area people working here right now,” said Stevens. He adds that he hopes to have a model unit completed this summer with the rest of the building to follow suit later this year.
