Man believed to have killed father faces murder charges

Officials have released the identity of the suspect believed to have killed his father with a golf club in Marysville Wednesday morning. 40 year old Jonathan Francis Stahl of Marysville was arraigned in St. Clair County District Court on murder charges Friday afternoon related to the death of 75 year old Allen Stahl also from Marysville. The incident occurred around 9am Wednesday at a residence on Lighthouse Drive in Marysville. Police had received a call from Stahl, who stated that he had just killed his father. He was taken into custody without incident.

Officers from the Marysville Police Department responded to a phone call from a male subject shortly after 9am Wednesday informing authorities that he had killed his father with a golf club at a Lighthouse Drive residence. He was taken into custody without incident. The victim has not been positively identified and authorities will not be releasing a name until investigations are complete.  Marysville Police say the suspect is currently in custody and is expected to face homicide charges. The Marysville Police Department is being assisted in their investigation by the Port Huron Police Department Major Crimes Unit and the Michigan State Police Mobile Forensics Lab.
