Sand fest returns this weekend

This weekend marks the return of Sand Fest to the Fort Gratiot Light Station in Port Huron. The event features dozens of professional and armature sculptures making creations out of sand. Dave Brooks, chairman of Sand Fest, says it all begins Friday and runs through Sunday. In addition to the professional sculpting competition, Brooks says there will also be an amateur competition, as well as live music and hands on lessons. One day passes to sand fest are $6 each, a three day pasts is $15, and kids 4 and under a free. Brooks also says visitors to Sand Fest can climb the tower of  the Fort Gratiot Light House for an additional charge of $5 this weekend.
