St. Clair County kids entering preschool or kindergarten this fall are eligible to receive free hearing and vision screenings starting next week at the St. Clair County Health Department. The screenings will begin Monday August 19th and will be offered through the 30th at the health department’s headquarters on 28th Street in Port Huron. Appointments are available and walk-in’s will also be accepted. Local health officials say screenings can help your child succeed in school as an undiagnosed hearing and vision problem can interfere with a child’s development. For more information on hours and appointments, visit www.scchealth.co or call 987-5300.
