Authorities in Sanilac County are investigating a Thanksgiving evening shooting that injured a man in Speaker Township. Sheriff’s deputies say the incident occurred at the car pool lot near the intersection of M-19 and Galbraith Line Road. A man driving on M-19 shortly before 11pm had stopped to call 911 to report a reckless driver who almost struck him head on. While on the phone with dispatchers, an altercation was overheard and the call was disconnected. A short time later, another call came in from the same location reporting a gunshot victim in the car pool lot. A 30 year old man was taken to a Saginaw area hospital for treatment of injuries. The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department has not released the identity of the suspect or victim. Undersheriff Brad Roff tells WPHM the alleged shooter was in the same vehicle as the man who made the initial call to 911. Authorities say the investigation is on-going and all parties involved have been identified. Those who may have information on Thursday night’s shooting are asked to call 648-8360.
