The Port Huron Museum Carnegie Center will be closing its exhibits for three weeks come Monday. Andrew Kercher form the museum says they will be using the time to reorganize the Carnegie Center’s artifacts that have been in storage. “We’re finally to the point where technology has really caught up and made it easy,” Kercher told WPHM. “We’re going to be putting barcodes on items, we’re going to be entering it all into a computer.” Kercher says any help from the public is appreciated and inventory volunteers are needed. He says some of the volunteer opportunities include data entry, painting, and cleaning. Those interested can sign up at the Carnegie Center Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. You can also register to volunteer on the museum’s website, www.phmuseum.org.
