Another local law enforcement agency will be participating in the Hope not Handcuffs program. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s office will join the likes of the Port Huron Police Department, Yale Police Department, and Lapeer County Sheriff’s office in participating in the  Families Against Narcotics initiative. A person who is struggling with a substance abuse addiction will be able to seek help at the Sheriff’s office 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Those who ask for help from a sheriff’s deputy will be paired with a Hope not Handcuffs volunteer who will help place the individual in a treatment center. Those with questions about the Hope not Handcuffs program can call (833) 202-HOPE or visit www.familiesagainstnarcotics.org .
