Multiple crashes were reported in St. Clair and Sanilac Counties this week due to the winter storm. The Port Huron Police Department says they responded to about a dozen crashes over a 24 hour period between Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon. Most of the crashes were minor, according to the Port Huron Police Department. Sergent Jeremy Young says many were rear-end accidents involving vehicles who were unable to stop at a stop sign or traffic light.

Two are recovering from injuries sustained in a Wednesday afternoon crash near Marysville. According to the Marysville Police Department, a 43 year old Port Huron Woman crossed the center line on Range Road near Cuttle Road due to icy conditions. The vehicle crashed into an oncoming vehicle head on, injuring a 36 year old from China Township. Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Range Road at Cuttle was closed about an hour following Wednesday’s crash.

In Sanilac County, three were injured in a two vehicle collision in Washington Township near Applegate. Deputies say an SUV driven by a 25 year old Peck woman was traveling east on Washington Road and lost control due to the icy road conditions. The vehicle struck an oncoming pickup truck driven by a 67 year old Deckerville man. The drivers of both vehicles, as well as one passenger in the SUV, were taken to area hospitals  for treatment of minor injuries.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
