Port Huron City Council slated to buy park equipment, police vehicles

Port Huron City Council will meet tonight in a regular session meeting. Council members will be asked to approve a $125,000 proposal for the purchase and installation of new playground equipment at Lincoln Park in Port Huron. The James C. Acheson Foundation has committed to providing about $50,000 of assistance towards the Lincoln Park playground improvements. Port Huron City Council members tonight will also be asked to approve the purchase of two new Ford Explorer vehicles for a total of $68,000 and will be used as Police Department patrol vehicles. Also tonight,  council members will also be poised to accept a quote for $61,000 for the removal of existing seats and the instillation of newly donated seats at McMorran Arena. The city received 3,000 donated seats from the former Palace of Auburn Hills last year. Port Huron City Council is scheduled to meet at 7pm tonight at the Municipal Office Center
