In addition to the presidential primary, are a handful local ballot proposals that will be decided today by area voters. In Memphis, officials are seeking a new millage which would be used for capital improvements to city owned buildings and a new community center. In Casco Township, voters will be asked to renew road improvement and maintenance millage which expires this year. Sanilac County Residents as a whole will be asked to renew recycling, library, and emergency medical services millage. The Yale Public School district is seeking to renew a sinking fund and operating millage. Marlette Community Schools is also seeking to renew an operating millage. The largest local millage asking today is in the East China School District. Residents will be asked whether or not to combine St. Clair Middle and High Schools, build a new early childhood center, and provide improvements to the district’s technology and building infrastructure. A larger asking which would have called for a new, combined high school campus, was turned down by district voters last year.
