Two people from St. Clair County have died from the Coronavirus. According to the St. Clair County Health Department, an older male with underlying health conditions died at an area hospital Friday. No further details have been released. A second individual, who died this past Monday at an area hospital, was later tested for COVID-19 and was found to be positive. That victim is described as a woman in her 80s with underlying health conditions. The two deaths mark the first fatalities of St. Clair County Residents due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Our thoughts go out to the families as we begin to grieve for those lost due to COVID-19,” said Dr. Annette Mercatante, St. Clair County Medical Health Officer. “These first deaths remind us all to do what we can to stay home, stay healthy, and protect ourselves.”
