Five Republicans are hoping to get their party’s nomination for the 83rd district of the Michigan House of Representatives. The seat, currently held by Shane Hernandez, includes the City of Port Huron, Burtchville and Fort Gratiot Townships, and all of Sanilac County. Greg Alexander, Charles Armstrong II, Andrew Beeler, Tim Keller, and Joseph O’Mara have all thrown their hat in the ring to take Hernandez’s place. They’ll square off in the August 4th Primary. A lone Democrat, Stephanie Armostrong-Helton, plans to challenge the GOP nominee come November.
