A 52 year old Burtchville Township man has died after drowning in Lake Huron near Lakeport State Park. Robert Esquibel was swimming in the lake Wednesday afternoon with a friend when his friend noticed he had gone under water. Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and Burtchville Township Fire Department responded with a rescue boat. Esquibel was found in the water and CPR was performed. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. A autopsy has been scheduled with the St. Clair County Medical Examiner’s office.
