Police encourage residents to lock up their cars

Police are offering a reminder to motorists in Port Huron. Lock your cars and remove any valuables from inside the vehicle. The Port Huron Police say there have been 36 instances of items stolen from vehicles in the city since August. The locations of the larcenies have been sporadic, ranging from the north end to south end of town, and in one instance, a vehicle on Woodstock Drive with keys in the ignition was stolen. Port Huron Police say you should always lock up your car whenever parking and as winter approaches, police say vehicles should be locked when warming up your car.
