Port Huron voters started receiving their absentee ballots in the mail this week, but it’s not too late to request a ballot if you haven’t already done so. Port Huron City Clerk Cyndee Jonseck says anyone eligible to vote can request an absentee ballot application. To do so you’ll need to complete and return a request form which can be found at your local municipal clerk’s office or online at www.Michigan.gov/sos. Once the application is processed and approved, a ballot will then be sent to you in the mail. Completed ballots can be returned either by using the postage provided on the ballot return envelope, by dropping your ballot off in person at the clerk’s office, or by using one of the city’s 24 hour drop boxes at the Municipal Office Center. Jonseck says the last day to request a ballot by mail by October 30th, the Friday before election day. After that, you’ll need to vote in-person absentee on the Saturday or Monday prior to the election.   All regular polling places will also be open between 7am and 8pm on Election day, Tuesday November 3rd.
