The City of Port Huron plans to contest a $6300 fine from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The state agency alleges that the city was not following some of the governor’s executive orders pertaining to personal protection equipment and daily screening of employees. Port Huron City Manager James Freed says the city has been following all state directives and will challenge MIOSHA’s findings. The City of Port Huron was among ten other entities that were cited Friday by MIOSHA. Other alleged violators include a doughnut shop in Bay City, a rental car company in Freeland, and a gas station in Southfield.
