Travel for the Thanksgiving holiday is expected to pick up today but will still be down compared to last year. AAA Michigan says 1.6 million people are expected to hit the road and travel over the next four days, although the number could be lower because of restrictions put in place due to the coronavirus. Across the U.S. some 50 million Americans are expected to travel despite the encouragement of the CDC for people to stay home. That’s down from 55 million a year ago. Those who do plan to travel for the holiday can expect to see the lowest gas prices in five years.
