Tomorrow is election day for a few local municipalities in St. Clair County. In the Yale Public Schools District, voters will decide yes or no on a millage request to raise nearly $16 million in order to remodel school buildings. The bond would be at a rate of 3.12 mills and would be levied starting in year two of the twelve year proposal.

In the City of St. Clair, voters will be asked whether or not to approve three separate revisions to the document that governs city operations. Proposal one would remove the residency requirement for councilmembers who represent a specific ward in the city in the event that they be place in a new ward by the reapportionment process. Proposal two seeks to change the date city department heads propose their fiscal year budget, and the third sets January 1st as the new fiscal year cycle in St. Clair.

Polls tomorrow are open from 7am to 8pm tomorrow or you can vote in person absentee Monday at your local municipal clerk’s office.
