Gas prices in Michigan are up a whopping 16-cents over the last week, setting a new 2021 record high. The average statewide price at the pump is now $3.43, an increase of 17 cents from last month and $1.43 more than this time last year. AAA of Michigan says low domestic supplies of crude oil have pushed prices to the new record high, and adding that if fuel supplies remain tight, motorists can expect gas prices to stay high through the next week. Locally, Port Huron area pumps are asking on average $3.46 a gallon for regular unleaded.
