A crash between an Amish buggy and a SUV earlier this week in Sanilac County has claimed the life of a 10 year old boy. Sheriff’s deputies are reporting that the crash occurred just before 8pm Monday on Cass City Road east of North Van Dyke Road in Sanilac County’s Greenleaf township. A 32 year old Snover man is believed to have rear ended an Amish horse-drawn trailer as he was traveling westbound on Cass City Road. The 35 year old driver and his 12 year old son were hospitalized as a result of the crash. A second son, age 10, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Sheriff’s deputies say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and that they were assisted at the scene by multiple EMS agencies and Cas City fire and Rescue. Names have not been released pending further investigations.
