The Port Huron Area School District is announcing the results of last week’s Port Huron High School mascot election. The two highest vote getters were the Panthers and Red Hawks with neither choice receiving at least a 51% majority. That will now prompt a run-off election between the Panthers and Red Hawks with voting taking place over the next few days. Community members can visit the Port Huron Early Childhood Center between 8am and 3pm to cast their ballot now through Friday. There will also be voting at Port Huron High School Friday from 4pm to 8pm. Students and staff will be voting on the choices while in school. Port Huron High School’s current mascot, the Big Reds, will be retired at the end of the current school year.
