Local lawyer Tony Houle passes away

Port Huron residents are mourning the loss of Tony Houle after his passing Friday at the age of 65. His family reports that he died peacefully after a years-long battle with heart disease. Houle graduated from Port Huron Northern in 1977 and attended St. Clair County Community College before going on to the University of Michigan, and eventually the University of Detroit Law School, where in 1984, he earned his Juris Doctor Degree. Later, he founded the Tony Houle Law Offices in Downtown Port Huron where he practiced law until just last year. Houle precedes in death, his wife of 39 years, Mary Lynn Houle, his children, Delaney and Braeden Houle, and a robust extended family. Visitations will be held on Thursday, April 4th with a memorial service the following morning, both at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home in Port Huron. The Houle family requests anyone wishing to honor Tony’s memory to consider making donations to the City of Port Huron’s Rec Department or to the Port Huron Area School District’s Swim Teams.
