Marysville housing project gets boost from state

A proposed Marysville senior housing project is receiving a nearly $1.5 million dollar boost thanks to a Michigan State Housing Development Authority tax credit. Wills Manor, currently under development by Cove Investments, is one of 22 new construction or rehab projects throughout the state the Governor’s Office announced yesterday will receive this type of funding through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Wills Manor is set to include 48 housing units for elderly residents, 18 of which are expected to receive vouchers from the Port Huron Housing Commission and About 15 percent of the units will be prioritized for residents with tenant-based rental assistance. Other projects in Detroit, Muskegon, Wyoming, Battle
Creek, Flint, Owosso, and Kalamazoo will receive funding through the program.
