Port Huron City Manager James Freed announcing a promotion within the city’s Assessor’s Office as the city says goodbye to longtime assessor Ryan Porte. Angela Swoffer will now be responsible for overseeing the Assessor’s Office, and with her eight years with the city, Freed said he’s confident her promotion will provide a seamless transition within the office. Swoffer’s primary responsibilities as a certified accessor will be monitoring and assigning property tax values in the city. City Manager Freed says they’re grateful for the 22 years of service departing City Assessor Ryan Porte gave to Port Huron, and wishes him well in his new position in Grand Traverse County.
