A man accused of repeatedly stabbing a 56-year-old family member at a home in the 4000 block of Parker Road in Fort Gratiot Township is now facing charges of assault with intent to murder. 33-year-old Brent Durrant went on the run Thursday evening after an altercation that reportedly also left a second person with cuts to their hands. Authorities were able to apprehend Durrant nearly two days later at a location near the area near the Fort Gratiot Meijer. Further details surrounding the arrest have not yet been made public. If convicted, Durrant could be looking at a maximum sentence of life in prison. He is scheduled to appear in front of a judge again next Tuesday. A bond is set at two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
