Internet connectivity is now an essential part of the daily life of adults and of course students. To enhance wireless service in Port Huron schools, the school board approved several contracts during their regular meeting Monday night. School Superintendent James Cain says in today’s age we need reliable wifi and internet connectivity for students, staff, and community. The district’s wireless network infrastructure will be enhanced by providing more network access points and increasing the capacity of connected devices. The board was also awarded the Regional Education Service Agency contract to continue to provide internet access to Port Huron schools. Meanwhile Port Huron Northern will be getting a new gymnasium floor soon as well, thanks the school’s “Fund Our Floor” campaign that raised over $100,000. Port Huron Northern Athletic director Jason Kasparian, who came up with the “Fund Our Floor” campaign, was recognized at the meeting for his efforts in helping Northern get a new gym floor. A bid for construction of the new gym floor was approved by the board during the Monday night meeting.
