Local Congresswoman Candice Miller announced last year that she will not be running for re-election, but apparently she’s not quite done with public service. Miller announced Wednesday that she will be running for Macomb County Public Work’s Commissioner in November. During her time in Congress, Miller was a strong proponent of Michigan infrastructure development and defender of the Great Lakes. Miller, who lives in Macomb county, has served in the United States House of Representatives for the past 14 years. She has also served on the subcommittee for Water Resources and the Environment. If she wins the Republican primary for the post she would likely face a long-time Democrat incumbent.
