Some changes are being made to the St. Clair County warning system. You may be familiar with the outdoor warning system in St. Clair County that sounds off the first of every month. Well, beginning in April the 3 minute test will now switch to a 30 second alert to avoid confusion between tests and actual warnings. If a prolonged siren is heard, residents should go inside, close the windows and turn on local media. Remember, activation of sirens isn’t always for weather events. They are also used to warn of chemical releases.
