The owner of the Military Street Music Cafe was arraigned on assault charges this week, in connection with events that took place at the bar on March 13th. Steve Pasteski was charged with assault and battery after police reviewed video footage confiscated from the bar. Chief Michael Reaves played the video during the Port Huron City Council’s regular meeting on Monday night, where the council decided to request that the Michigan Liquor Control Commission not renew the establishments liquor license. The Chief notified Pasteski at the meeting that he was going to be taken into custody based on the video evidence. Pastewski was allowed to turn himself into police the next day. He plead not guilty to the charge in front of District Court Judge John Monaghan and was released on a $3-thousand personal bond. A pre-trial hearing date of April 1 was set in the case.
